If you are new to Jungle Scout and don’t know how to use it to identify trending products, here’s a quick tutorial.

Here are two example situations:

  1. You don’t know which products you want to sell. That is, you haven’t done any product research whatsoever.
  2. You’ve done some product research, have found some product ideas and now, you want to know which are trending.

Let’s address one situation at a time.

1. You don’t have any product ideas:

Jungle Scout has a tool called Opportunity Finder. This tool will allow you to find niche product ideas and search for profitable and popular products in different product categories using a set of filters.

Here’s how:

Step 1: Open Opportunity Finder and select the marketplace. Then select the categories you like.


Step 2: Set filters like average monthly sales, average monthly price, monthly search volume, 30/90-day search volume, niche score (this score tells how good the niche or opportunity is), competition (how competitive a niche or product is), and seasonality (how seasonal product is).

The filter values you set are average assumptions. For example, the price range can be between $18 and $60 or anything you choose. The search volume can be a minimum of 4,500 searches a day or something else.

You can include or exclude keywords and exclude top brands if you want while setting the filters. Once you have set the filters, run a search.

Step 3: Based on your selected marketplace, categories, and set filters, Opportunity Finder will show top niches with their respective categories, average monthly sales, monthly search volume, 30/90-day search trends, competition level, and seasonality.


The search volume will tell you whether a niche is trending or not.

Step 4: Click on the dropdown arrow next to a niche, and the tool will reveal a graphical representation of the data in a tabbed segment. One of the tabs is ‘Top Products.’ Click on the tab to find top-selling products in the niche with product-specific data like monthly sales, revenue, price, etc.


Step 5: Select the products you like and put them in Product Tracker to track those products. You can then track the performance of those products over time to identify trending products.

2. You already have some product ideas:

Another way to find products trending upwards is to use the Keyword Scout tool. This tool will display search trends and volumes for your input keyword(s) and related keywords.

For example, you can use a generic search term like ‘mothers day gifts.’ Once you find the search trends for your keywords, you’ll get a rough idea of the current trends.


After you create a list of keywords, you can go to the Product Database tool to find profitable product ideas.

Here’s how to use it:

Step 1: Open Product Database and select your preferred marketplace and category. Select product tier, seller type, and set your filters. Now, add the trending keywords in the ‘Include Keywords’ field and run a search.


You don’t have to set all filters. Set one or two, or leave them blank entirely.

Step 2: Once the tool displays products based on your filters and selections, select the products you like and add them to the Product Tracker tool.


Step 3: Now, navigate to the Product Tracker tool and click on the ‘View’ button next to the product name (the button appears once you hover the mouse cursor on the product name) to pull up the Product Trends graph.


If you check the Buy Box option, the Product Trends graph can display the Buy Box Price trend.

NB: Once you add products to the Product Tracker, it can take up to 48 hours to get the trend data.

Amazon Best Sellers:


Another way to find trending and best-selling items on Amazon is to check the Amazon Best Sellers page. This page is updated hourly and displays the Amazon bestseller products in every category.

This list will show the most popular products based on total sales, allowing you to quickly find profitable products to sell.

However, keep a regular eye on the page as new products in demand can quickly replace the popular ones. This sudden shift may occur when items begin trending or when customers display interest in seasonal products.

It’s important to note that every product experiences some level of seasonality and price fluctuations over time. To effectively track these historical trends, consider using a specialized tool like Jungle Scout.

Another way to spot trending items on the Amazon Best Sellers page is to check the Movers & Shakers tab. Here you can find the products in different categories that moved up in rank.

Brand Analytics Report:


Brand Analytics Report is another way to find trending products on Amazon. It’s a treasure trove of information you can access from your Amazon Seller Central Account.

To access the report, log in to your Seller Central Account, and from the main left navigation, click All Programs ≫ Build a brand, and then select Brand Analytics.

Some vital reports in Brand Analytics include:

  • Amazon Search Terms Report: This report gives data on the keywords that potential customers use during online shopping on Amazon.
  • Repeat Purchase Behavior: This report provides data on total first-time and repeat orders, repeat customers, percentage of sales from repeat orders, etc.
  • Market Basket Analysis Item: This report offers the ASINs and titles of the products frequently purchased with your products and the percentage of your orders for your products with products from other sellers.
  • Market Basket Analysis Item Comparison & Alternate Purchase Behavior: In this report, Amazon reveals the top three products that customers purchased instead of your products and how often buyers compare your products with products from the top three sellers.

You can also find trending products using Google Trends. While not the most reliable source to find trending products on Amazon, you will see the kind of products people are searching for on Google.

This can give you some great product ideas to research further.

On the Explore tab, provide a search term, select a country, choose a category, set a time frame, and use the Google Shopping filter to find trends.


Exploding Topics:


Exploding Topics keeps track of trending brands and products. You can query their database based on keywords, category, and duration and see historical trends for up to the past 15 years.

You can also find the monthly Google search volume for the topic in the United States. Plus, clicking on a topic card will display related search topics.



Statista is a research company that provides forecasts and statistical data. While you can’t directly search for trending items, you can find forecasts on trends. These forecasts can be useful if you want to take advantage of emerging trends in the early days.

However, Statista is not free. You can buy individual reports or get full access to all research data with a yearly subscription.

You can look for trending products on Twitter simply by looking at the trending hashtags. While most hashtags are about topics and information, some can help determine which products are trending.

Twitter’s search can also help you find hashtags and accounts related to your niche. You just need to use appropriate key phrases.

TikTok is another excellent platform that you can use to find trending items. Visit the discovery tab of TikTok, follow influencers or use the TikTok Creative Center, where you can find hot items. You can easily browse top-converting and featured products in different regions/countries and categories.
