What To Do When You Can't Afford Training Programs

Welcome to Episode 32 of Make it Happen Monday!

Published every Monday, this is my weekly video series helping you to blast through any barriers holding up your success in life and business and giving you weekly tips and inspiration to move forward to achieve your goals and dreams.

When we say that we can’t afford something, most of the time what we actually mean is that it’s not a priority at the moment.

However when we want something badly enough, we have a tendency to find the money.

For instance, if you broke your iPhone, would you go without a phone, or would you find the money to get a new one? Odds are, you’d figure out a way to pay for the phone.

When it comes to starting a business, you’re going to have to make an investment. If you think you can’t afford it, look hard at your finances and figure out how you could find a way to afford it.

And if you truly cannot afford it? Well, then you should watch this week’s video.

In this week’s Make It Happen Monday, I’m talking about what to do when you can’t afford training programs.

Today, I’m talking about the costs of training courses, attending seminars, getting a mentor etc.

None of us have an endless source of funds, and I get many emails from people who just simply can’t afford the training. I want to show you how to build this online lifestyle business without funds.

Today’s video has come about because recently I’ve been sending out offers for a product in order to help you get an Amazon business off the ground.

I’ve received lots of emails from people saying “I’d love to do this, but, if I’ve got to lay out for stock as well as the initial training, I simply can’t afford it.”

Getting into business costs money!

No business that you get into is cheap. Getting a business off the ground is going to cost you.

The Amazon business is one I wholly, 100%, believe in. At the moment, we’ve generated over $1.7 million in less than 18 months on Amazon.

We’ve had lots of colleagues and friends do similarly well, and it’s a phenomenal business model to get into.

But, it’s not cheap. It’s an actual business. It requires upfront investment.

Upfront investment to learn how to do it from the best, purchase your stock, and to get your product off the ground and invest in some marketing strategies.

Now, there are online businesses where there are no upfront costs in stock, such as what I’m doing here – teaching business owners how to grow their businesses.

But there are still costs. I’ve spent thousands in training courses, seminars, products etc. Then there’s also the time, and sheer sweat and tears, I’ve put into it.

Remember, time costs money!

Can you really not afford it?

When you think you can’t afford something, in a lot of cases, you can.

If you actually went through your yearly expenses and looked at the amount of times you went to the cinema, went out for drinks, went out for dinners, spent on various vices, it all adds up!

Ask yourself how badly you want to start your business. It’s amazing how much money you can actually find in savings on certain expenses!

Think outside the box

When I built my first business, an offline business, I literally begged and borrowed to find nearly fifty grand to start it.

As it was an offline business, a lot more investment was required. I needed business premises, equipment, staff etc.

I had to work tooth and nail, and I went to friends, family, banks, everywhere!

You’ve all heard the stories of Walt Disney going to 900 banks to get his funding to set up Disney.

It takes a bit of creative thinking, a bit of thinking out of the box, and a bit of wheeling and dealing.

But, if you want it bad enough, you will find the investment!

I’ve done all of this and I REALLY can’t afford it!

If you’ve tried everything, then don’t let your lack of money stop you.

Don’t let that be the end.

I’m always giving out free PDF’s and free content detailing the key steps to get started. Other people do this too.

Google is your friend.

Just because you decide you can’t invest in a course does not mean that you cannot go out and use Google, YouTube, and other search engines to find free stuff.

Get your hands on as much free information as you can, and get started! There is nothing to say that you cannot go out there and do it yourself.

Yes, you will make more mistakes. Yes, it will take a bit longer.

But, anybody with the tenacity and the determination to get out there and make something happen will make it happen…… with or without a mentor or training!

Of course, having a mentor or training helps. Investing money into learning can shortcut your success.

However, without it, should it stop you in your tracks? Of course it shouldn’t!

You have the skills and brain power. You have all the information you need as it’s out there for you right now, online.

If you want something bad enough, don’t let anything get in your way. Just get out there and make it happen!

Your challenge!

Your challenge this week, should you choose to accept it, is…

Overcome your financial barriers to success and make it happen!

1) Know what it is you really want to achieve

You can’t become tenacious and determined to succeed when you don’t know what it is you want.

What do you want in your life? If there was nothing limiting your life, where would you be? What would you be doing?

If you’re struggling with this, read here on how to gain clarity

2) Take an inventory of your expenditure

Sometimes it takes writing down where your money is going over the space of a week, a month or year, to really see what’s happening.

That coffee at Starbucks every morning doesn’t seem so costly when you’re handing over loose change from your pockets.

Add it up over a year and see how much you could save by just making your own coffee and sticking it in a flask every morning.

That’s just one example. Go through your expenditure, and then see where you can cut back.

3) Think outside the box

Who can you approach for funding? Friends, family, banks, other organisations?

Think outside of your own life too. Get involved in forums, Facebook groups, other social media platforms etc.

There are millions of people in the same boat as you. How can you collaborate?

Remember, if you want it bad enough, you will find a way!

4) Don’t let lack of funds stop you!

If you have run up against a brick wall, you cannot gather the funds for training or a course, you don’t have a mentor etc, don’t let it stop you!

Google is your friend. Nearly all the information you require to go out there and get what you want in life is out there online for you today.

Yes, it will take you longer than someone who has invested in courses and mentors. But, it’s sheer will and determination that makes someone succeed.

In a straight race between someone who has all the training at their fingertips, but no determination, and someone with empty pockets but the sheer will to succeed, the ‘empty pockets’ guy wins every time!

Make it happen. Don’t let anything stand in your way.
