by | May 7, 2022

How to sell feet pics? Seriously?

Well, you typed the term into google my friend, so you must already know it’s a ‘thing’!

When I first mentioned to my 15-year-old daughter I was thinking about selling feet pics online, her first reaction was ‘eeww!’

‘Only pervy people with a foot fetish buy pictures of feet’, she exclaimed.

But, over the years I’ve taken many ‘foot’ photos to creatively present my own business lifestyle.

Recently I began to wonder if I could make money selling feet pics to utilize the photos I had, plus of course it’s my job to find all the ways solopreneurs or digital nomads can make money online.

I was surprised and shocked to discover that there are in fact a multitude of ways to start selling feet pictures online!

However, as warned by my wise teen, most of them are extremely dodgy with a most definite foot fetish, sexual element attached!

So what follows are the most legitimate, non-dodgy ways to sell feet pics online today! (With a tip of the hat to some slightly greyer sites towards the end of the post)

Let’s start with the obvious question…

Who Buys Feet Pics Anyway?

If you head to istock, one of my favorite stock photo sites, and type in ‘feet pics’, an astonishing 846,401 results appear!

From baby feet to foot care, massages, walking, friendship groups, foot pain, reflexology examples, you name it, there’s a foot photo for it.

  • Modeling Agencies (looking for foot models)
  • Jewelry Sites (selling foot jewelry)
  • Travel Websites
  • Nail Art Companies

  • And people with Foot Fetishes (as highlighted by my daughter)

Here’s a quick overview of how to sell feet pics online and make money!

How to Sell Feet Pics Online; 6 Actionable Steps

There are a multitude of platforms to start selling pictures of feet; but many definitely come with a ‘warning’ flag, particularly if you have to be over 18 to sign up!

So let’s start with;

How to Sell Feet Pics Online Legitimately (No Dodgy Stuff) – 9 Ways

Your Own Blog

No one has more control of your content than you do on your own website.

Perhaps you want to create a blog around nail art for feet, foot care, selling socks or feet products; perhaps you’re a podiatrist or are selling athletes’ foot products on Amazon; perhaps you create and sell foot jewelry.

Whatever your reason for starting a blog around feet, this is a 100% legitimate way to sell your foot photos.

To get started simply;

  • Choose a domain name
  • Get hosting
  • Create a simple website
  • Start posting quality keyword-rich content within your niche
  • Add an ecommerce shop selling your feet photos (see ecommerce store section below)
  • Promote your site & shop across the web

Stock Photo Sites

As I said towards the start of this article, when I searched for ‘feet pics’ on istock.com, over 846,000 images popped up in the search results.

That’s a lot of feet photos, which indicates it’s a popular niche.

The beautiful thing about stock photo sites is that they are legitimate, above-board sites used by site owners, small businesses, corporations, and people the world over for a variety of purposes.

Stock photo sites I recommend include; istock.com, Shutterstock, deposit photos, Dreamstime, and adobe stock.

To get started simply;

  • Create an account
  • Upload your photos
  • Create attractive keyword listings
  • Get paid as images are purchased and downloaded (see individual sites for commission rates etc)

Many stock photo sites also have affiliate programs so you can monetize further by recommending the platforms themselves.

Print on Demand Marketplaces;

Imagine seeing your beautiful feet adorning wall art, t-shirts, mugs or bags!

Print on demand marketplaces offer just that.

Print on demand (POD) is a business model whereby the POD company offers a range of blank products for you to add your design too.

You create your own online shopfront showcasing your designed products and when a customer purchases, the POD company sends out the product complete with your design.

As an example for my beach feet shots, I’ve used an app on my phone called ‘Watercolor’ to turn my feet into a watercolor painting which I’ve then added as a wall art painting.

Popular print on demand marketplaces include; Redbubble, Zazzle, Spreadshirt, Teepublic.

To get started simply;

  • Create an account
  • Choose your products
  • Upload and add your designs (see individual marketplaces for specs)
  • Create your store front
  • Promote and sell

Etsy

Etsy is a fantastic platform which lends itself to selling anything unique and crafty.

In fact, my watercolor feet pic would likely sell very well on the Etsy platform.

There are a multitude of ways to start selling on Etsy, but the two simplest routes are print on demand as detailed above or selling digital printables.

The best way to sell print on demand on Etsy is to connect the Printful app to your Etsy store and add your designs to their products, using Etsy as your storefront.

If you want to sell your art as a digital printable, simply upload your photos as SVG, PNG, DXF, EPS, or JPG (SVG, PNG & JPG are good enough), then sell the rights to download and print.

Note Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee per product and 5% of sales.

To get started selling your feet pics on Etsy;

  • Create an account
  • Set up your Etsy shop
  • Connect your payment platforms (paypal, stripe etc)
  • List your products
  • Focus on quality images and keyword rich headlines and descriptions

Create Your Own Ecommerce Store

Much like starting a blog, rather than relying on any other platforms, you can of course create your own ecommerce store selling your feet pics or feet-related products.

You can create a standalone ecommerce store using a platform like Shopify or BigCommerce, or attach your ecommerce store to your website using a plugin like Woocommerce.

Either way, by creating your own store you have full creative control and can upload and post what you like when you like.

On your own store, you can connect to a POD app like Printful and sell print on demand products, you can sell your own digital printables, or you can have your designs preprinted as wall art or on products of your choice and store and sell. (I don’t recommend the third option unless you have already proved your brand and have regular sales coming in.)

Please note each individual ecommerce platform may charge a fee for using their service, plus transaction costs. (See individual platforms for breakdowns)

To get started simply;

  • Choose your platform
  • Choose your store name/domain name
  • Set up your store
  • Add your products
  • Promote and sell

Social Media Platforms

These days it’s easier than ever to sell products on social media platforms.

Facebook & Instagram shopping mean you don’t even have to have an external store, if you’re based in the US, you can upload and sell products directly through their marketplaces.

Once again you choose your product line, whether print on demand, digital printable feet pics, or preprinted wall art, create your online store and promote your products across the social media networks.

To get started simply;

  • Create a Facebook & Instagram account
  • Create your shop on your facebook business page
  • Add your products
  • Tag your products
  • Promote your products!

You can also use TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Pinterest to promote your feet pic store.

Ebay

Years ago a guy did an experiment selling an old piece of rope on Ebay. I can’t remember how much he got for it, but it wasn’t insignificant and it was proof indeed that you can sell almost anything to anyone if the desire is there!

So, why not sell your feet pics on eBay!

If you’ve edited your feet photos creatively to look like wall art, or cushion covers, etc, your images might be just what someone is looking for.

To get started on eBay simply;

  • Create and verify a business account
  • Set up your eBay shop
  • Connect your payment processors (PayPal/Stripe)
  • List your products
  • Sell, sell, sell!

Foap

Foap is a fantastic way to turn your photos and videos into cash! A marketing platform for brands looking for images that represent their brand story, there are four ways to monetize your feet pics on Foap.

1. Join Foap missions.

Add your photos to be included in missions, which are sent as part of a collection to a brand that has specified the kind of images it’s looking for.

As an example, my beach feet photos might be used in a campaign for a travel company.

Missions can pay up to $60 a photo.

2. Join Foap premium missions.

You’ll need to be active in the Foap app to collect coins to join premium missions, but once entered rewards can be as much as $1000.

3. Sell your photos via the Foap marketplace. They keep 50% of your photo price, so if you sell a photo for $10, they keep $5.

4. Add photos of other users to your album and get $0.25 for every photo purchased.

The more active you are on Foap, the more you’re likely to earn.

To get started on Foap;

  • Download the Foap app on your phone
  • Create an account
  • Upload your photos
  • Add captions and keyword-rich tags

Become a Foot Model

If you have lovely feet (is there such a thing?), then you might consider becoming a foot model.

There are all sorts of body-part models, fingers, hands, feet, eyes, bottoms, etc.

Parts modeling can be a very lucrative career, although you probably need to be pretty secure and able to take rejection well.

The best way to get started is to create a portfolio of feet pics. Get as many as you can taken by a professional photographer and then look out for open calls with modeling agencies or send your portfolio out to as many agencies as you can find.

If selected, the agency will find jobs, negotiate rates and act on your behalf.

5 Slightly More ‘Gray’ Routes to Selling Feet Pics Online

What I mean by ‘gray’, is that the following sites seem to conjure up more ‘fetish style’ accounts and images.

I’m starting with the best and ending with what I think is the worst.

Please note the following sites are not personal recommendations, I only include them as they are services that exist.

As long as you’re cautious, never reveal your true identity, and don’t show your face or other body parts (unless you’re into that sort of thing), these could be potential sources to make money from selling feet pics.

Here goes;

Feet Finder

FeetFinder is a dedicated foot photography website (who knew there were dedicated feet pic websites!), and probably the best and most authentic of the lot.

However, you must be over 18 (red flag) and be able to produce a verifiable ID to sign up.

FeetFinder markets itself as a safe, legitimate site for selling feet photos and has a 4.8 rating out of over 1000 reviews on Trustpilot.

Buyers are looking for all manner of feet pics including painted toes, high heels, tattooed feet, and more. To keep your IP safe, FeetFinder blurs the photos and offers a preview for interested parties.

They do charge a seller free of $3.99 a month or $14.99 a year and charge 20% on all sales, but it’s worth it for the safety, security, and reputation of this website.

This is probably the best dedicated foot photo website with the highest potential to make money from your feet pics directly.

To get set up simply;

  • Create an account
  • Get verified
  • Pay your fees
  • Upload quality photos
  • Create a keyword rich bio
  • Sell, sell, sell!

Feetpics.com

Another website dedicated to selling feet photos, feetpics.com is more of an ecommerce style website.

You’ll set up a page to showcase your feet pics and have the opportunity to promote your page on or off the platform.

With only an initial $5 setup fee, you’ll only pay feetpics if you want to promote your page within their platform. Promoting your page on your other social media accounts is free.

To get set up on feetpics, simply;

  • Create your account
  • Choose your page name
  • Add listings in applicable categories
  • Upload your feet pics
  • Promote your page on site (for a fee) or on social media
  • Accept payments via Bitcoin or PayPal & usual payment channels

Instafeet

Instafeet is a dedicated subscription-based foot photography site. Your goal as a creator is to attract subscribers who will pay a monthly fee to access your foot photos! (Huge red flag!)

The site recommends you price your monthly subscription at around $10/month.

Although it’s free to get started, Instafeet charges 10% on your subscription fees. So for every $10 subscriber, you’ll earn $9, which isn’t so bad!

To get started on Instafeet simply;

  • Create your account
  • Get verified (you need to be 18+)
  • Choose your monthly subscription price
  • Upload a minimum of 5 photos & continue to upload more each month to encourage your subscribers to continue paying
  • Promote & sell

NB: Never reveal your true identity and don’t show your face or other body parts (unless you’re into that sort of thing – every woman for herself!)

Feetify

Feetify is as dodgy as, but does have a 4.6 trust pilot rating with over 200 reviews.

It’s a subscription-based platform dedicated to feet pics.

You can earn cash rewards from the site itself just for being particularly active on the site, or you can become a premium member by paying $49 in crypto which means you keep 100% of all sales made through the platform.

Sales are made directly between you and the buyer via private messaging.

To get started simply;

  • Create your free account
  • Upload your photos
  • Be active on a daily basis
  • Upload photos consistently
  • Become a premium member
  • Connect with buyers

OnlyFans

OnlyFans has built up a reputation as a site for sex workers and pornography, so I’m hesitant to include it. However, these days a lot of other types of influencers are starting to build platforms there including celebs such as Cardi B & Bella Thorne.

A subscription-based social media platform with over 130 million users, feet are a popular category on the site and therefore you could potentially generate a decent income!

It’s free to join and you charge a subscription fee for fans to access your content starting from $4.99.

All you need to do to get started is;

  • Create an account
  • Add verifiable ID
  • Add your social media accounts
  • Uploading content
  • Let your fans know!

2. How to Take or Find Quality Feet Photos

If you’re not sure how to take quality feet photos, inspiration abounds!

Simply log on to stock photo sites and look at other feet pics. How are the feet posed, are the toenails painted, are the feet in a certain position, do they have a specific background, etc.

Look at what’s already out there to inform how you create your feet photos.

Or if like me, the only reason you take feet pics is to showcase your surroundings, you may already have this covered.

jo feet pic on the beach

If your goal is to make a living selling feet pics, then it goes without saying that you need to look after your feet!

A good foot pampering routine never goes amiss, feet pics or not!

Lastly, you don’t need a fancy camera. If you’re using one of the latest iPhone or Android models, the camera capabilities are fantastic these days.

Make sure your feet look good, you have great lighting, and ideally have roped in a friend with a bottle of wine!

3. Uploading Your Feet Pics

Once you’ve taken your feet pics, use built-in editing functions or apps such as Lightroom or Snapseed to improve the lighting even further.

Then upload your photos to your computer or directly to the feet pic app (depending on which platform you’ve chosen) in the highest resolution to ensure a quality photo.

If you do need to resize your image for the platform in question, be sure to maintain the resolution and export your image in the appropriate file type (each platform will specify the file types required.)

4. How to Drive Traffic to Your Feet Pics

Once you’ve uploaded your feet pics or created your foot photo products you’ll need to start attracting buyers.

This will start on the app or platform you’re using. Utilize any in-house promotion strategies available.

Next, create social media accounts and begin posting relevant, informative, entertaining, or educational content, gradually building an audience.

You’ll then either sell your feet pics and products directly or start to build an email list of interested subscribers who may buy from you down the line.

You can easily run Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and even TikTok ads to showcase your images/products to your audiences.

If using your own website or ecommerce platform, creating long-form written content and utilizing search engine optimization is a great long-term strategy to drive organic traffic to your store.

5. How to Sell Feet Pics

If you’re using a ready-made app or platform to sell your feet pics or products, they will likely come with inbuilt payment platforms you will connect your bank account or PayPal account to.

As you promote your feet photos and people buy, the money will go via the payment platform directly to your account of choice minus transaction fees.

If using your own website or ecommerce store you’ll need to create a PayPal or Stripe account to collect payments.

These days it’s very easy to create these accounts and connect to your platforms.

6. Diversify & Repeat

If you’re taking the time to take beautiful photos of your feet, edit them and upload them to one platform, why not upload to multiple?

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket, diversify!

If you decide to go down the print on demand route, why not create a store on Redbubble, your own website, and on Etsy. Now you have three cracks at the whip instead of one.

If you choose the direct, grayer route, add your images to two or three sites at once and see which ones generate the most income. Then double down on the winner.

As long as it doesn’t take a lot more time or attention, it’s worth testing two or three platforms to see which one is a better money maker. Whichever platforms start generating regular sales are the ones to focus all your efforts on.

How to Sell Feet Pics Online Summary

I’ll be honest selling feet pics wouldn’t be my first choice to building an online lifestyle business and traveling the world, but it looks to be a popular business, so who am I to ignore the opportunity.

However, I urge you to be mindful when entering this niche. As my 15-year-old pointed out, there are people with foot fetishes who will use your images for more nefarious purposes (beats me, I think feet are pretty terrible).

However, if you choose to use your feet photos in more creative ways for print on demand products, wall art, or stock photo sites with the intention of supporting and helping companies who sell feet products such as podiatrists or nail art specialists then there’s no reason you can’t make a decent monthly income in this niche.

Good Luck!

Feet Pics – FAQ’s

Is selling feet pics seriously a ‘thing’?

Like I said above, I think feet are pretty horrible looking things no matter how much we pamper them, but for shoe companies, health websites, reflexology specialists, etc, feet pics are an imperative art of their marketing campaigns.

So done tastefully, yep selling feet pics is indeed a ‘thing’.

Can I make money selling feet pics?

You sure can! Either by uploading and selling your feet photos directly or in more creative ways by turning them into tasteful wall art, cushion covers or welcome mats!

Is it legal to sell feet pics?

I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be. There are some countries/religions where showing your feet is offensive.

I live in Thailand and they have a whole etiquette about feet, such as not pointing feet or putting feet on tables or chairs, etc, so I guess for Thai people it might be frowned upon if they started selling pics of their feet.

But for Western countries, it’s perfectly legal and above board.

How much should I charge for selling foot pictures?

Each platform is different and will come with its own recommendations for price points. It will also depend on the commission rates charged and how you intend to market your feet pics or products.

Please share with anyone you think this might benefit. Thank you 🙂
