As an Amazon FBA seller, you likely know that having an Amazon virtual assistant can be a huge time-saver.
In fact, as soon as we started to hire Amazon FBA VA’s, our business increased to over three million in revenues over three years.
You can read our Amazon story here.
But what are some specific ways that an Amazon virtual assistant can help you?
In this blog post, I’ll detail 15 ways in which an Amazon FBA VA can help you streamline and accelerate your FBA business.
I’ll also provide some tips on how to find a great Amazon virtual assistant who can help you reach your goals!
What is an Amazon Virtual Assistant?
An Amazon virtual assistant is usually a contract worker, who works remotely, either full or part-time, and provides services such as customer service, data entry, social media management or market research.
You’ll either hire someone who specializes in one area like Amazon PPC software or product listing, or you’ll hire a more generalist Amazon VA, who can do a wide range of tasks.
Either way, hiring an amazon virtual assistant will save you time, money and stress as you grow your amazon business.
Here are 15 ways an Amazon Virtual Assistant can help you:
1. Product Research:
Product research is a time consuming and laborious task.
You can considerably speed it up by using software such as Junglescout’s product finder, however a better combination would be the software and an amazon FBA virtual assistant working it!
An Amazon Virtual Assistant will research products that are in demand and profitable. They can then help you find suppliers and negotiate prices.

2. Product Sourcing:
Product sourcing is an equally laborious task, made easier using software such as Junglescouts supplier database.
Your Amazon virtual assistant can use the software to find potential suppliers, do all the outreach and negotiation.
Order and test samples and even deal with all the logistics.
And if you already have an ongoing relationship with a supplier but still find yourself organizing new stock and dealing with shipments, you can hand the lot off to your Amazon VA!
3. Product Listings:
Product listings require high quality images, keyword research to find the most relevant keywords, a keyword rich headline and bullet points, a beautifully crafted product description and more.
An amazon virtual assistant can help you do all of this focusing on listing optimization to ensure your products show up in the Amazon search page and if you hire a professional writer, they can even ensure your product descriptions are top notch!
4. FBA Shipment Plans:
Once your product has been manufactured and is ready to ship, you’ll need to go into your seller central account and put together all the shipping plans and print up the shipping labels for your suppliers.
This is a job your virtual assistant could do, taking the hassle away from you.
They can also assist in contacting suppliers and coordinating shipments.
5. Inventory Management:
Inventory management is a big job for amazon sellers. In fact it tripped us up many times, whether by running out of products, or ordering too much!
Keeping on top of it requires time and focus. This is an ideal task to outsource to your Amazon virtual assistants.
They can help you track your inventory levels and reorder products when necessary. They can also help you create and manage inventory reports.
6. Order Fulfillment:
Although Amazon FBA takes care of the lion’s share of fulfillment, should you ever do FBM (fulfilled by merchant) or run a Shopify store alongside your amazon business, a good amazon virtual assistant can help with all aspects of fbm orders including, order fulfillment, and order processing.
They can also contact customers, update tracking information, and handle customer service issues.

7. Customer Service and Support:
Customer service Amazon virtual assistants are worth their weight in gold.
Customer service tasks can take up a lot of time and headspace so handing this task over to an experienced Amazon VA will be a major time saver in your amazon business.
Your Amazon seller central account health is also heavily weighted by how rapid your customer response times are.
Your Amazon virtual assistants will handle customer inquiries, process refunds, deal with any negative feedback, resolve issues and any other relevant administrative tasks.
8. FBA Reimbursement:
There is a reimbursement policy for Amazon FBA, but there are quite a few hoops to jump through to make a claim.
Your Amazon virtual assistant can take the stress off for this task and can help you file for FBA reimbursement.
They can also track your claims and follow up with Amazon customer service who can be a nightmare to communicate with!
9. Influencer Marketing Campaigns:
Influencer marketing is a fantastic way to get your products in front of your target market.
Unfortunately the process of reaching out to influencers, negotiating the terms of the promotion and then following up and measuring the campaign success, etc is time consuming.
Your Amazon virtual assistant can help by researching influencers, making the first contact, creating campaigns, sending out products and tracking results.
10. Social Media Campaigns:
Social media is a massive time suck, but a great way to generate an audience and interest in your products.
For social media to work you need to be on your platforms of choice multiple times a day, networking with others in your niche and responding to comments.
Your amazon virtual assistants can create & publish posts on a daily basis, connect and respond to others within your niche, respond to comments, likes & shares and even run social media ad campaigns.
In fact an Amazon VA I had, even created super cool video campaigns using my products without any time commitment from me!
11. Amazon PPC & Amazon Marketing Services:
Running amazon ppc campaigns and working within the amazon marketing services set of seller central tools is both complex and time consuming, even with automated software to streamline the process.
Rather than do this yourself, hire an Amazon VA to do the lion’s share of the work. A well trained amazon virtual assistant will do competitor analysis, create the ad campaigns, monitor the ad budgets, work on ad optimization and measure the results to ensure the best ROI.
Having an FBA virtual assistant working on this full time, likely means more profitable ad campaigns, which translates to a more profitable business.

12. Coupons, Promotions & Reviews
A great way to boost sales is to run regular promotions and offer coupons for your products.
There are a multitude of ways to promote your coupons, but one of the most effective is to post in all the facebook coupon groups. As you can imagine this can take a considerable amount of time.
Hiring amazon virtual assistants for this role means they can focus on finding the best groups, chatting with the group owners to get the best out of the campaigns and then following up with coupon holders to encourage reviews.
Please note it is against Amazon toc’s to aggressively solicit for reviews, but a gentle, if you love our product, please leave a review is fine.
Give this important but laborious task to your virtual assistant, leaving you time to focus on tweaking and improving your product listings, finding more great products and networking with other sellers to improve your skills and knowledge.
13. Amazon Repricing for Better Profitability:
Amazon repricing is quite simply changing the pricing of your products on the Amazon marketplace.
You’ll likely do this if there is a change in how much it costs you to purchase your products, a change in shipping terms or Amazon fees, if you’re product isn’t selling well and you want to become more competitive or just to test different price points to see what works best.
Your amazon va can help you price for maximum profitability. A marketing virtual assistant can keep a close watch on your competitors and adjust your prices accordingly to ensure you remain competitive.
A bookkeeping or finance based VA can keep an eye on supplier costs and advise you on when to change pricing to ensure you’re staying at your desired profit levels.

14. Prime Day & Lightning Deals:
Prime Day is massive! We used to do over 25% of our yearly revenue over the prime day weekend. To get the best of it however, you’ll want to be advertising on and off Amazon, which can take all your attention away from other parts of the business.
Your amazon virtual assistant can help with that!
Either you leave them to ensure all other cogs are still turning, or you enlist their services to help with preparing for and executing your prime day deals expertly!
This is the same for lightning deals. If you have some stock you want to offload or a new product that you want to kick off with a bang, a lightning deal might be the way to go.
Your Amazon VA can book, prep and see the sale through helping you to track results and sales.

15. Amazon Reporting & Accounts:
Keeping up with Amazon reporting and staying on top of your accounts is a huge task.
In fact, this was one of the first positions we hired for. Your Amazon VA will sort through all the reports and run your bookkeeping system for you.
We used A2X Accounting coupled with Xero.com to sync our accounts with our amazon account, which made the whole process much easier. Plus both platforms offer outstanding customer service.

How to Find the Best Amazon Virtual Assistants
I think I’ve made a case for how an Amazon Virtual Assistant can be an extremely valuable asset to your business.
So, how do you find the best Amazon Virtual Assistants to help with all the various parts of your business?
Firstly, be careful hiring a VA to do multiple tasks, not related to each other. For example, don’t expect your accounts assistant to also be your amazon ppc guru.
Although many Amazon VA’s are skilled in a multitude of areas, the best route is to hire specialists for those tasks that require a greater level of knowledge and skills and generalists for easier (albeit no less important) jobs.
Here are some great resources for you to find the best VA’s for the tasks you want doing;
1. Wing – Specialists in Ecommerce VA’s.

Wing Assistants, specialize in ecommerce va’s. With talent mainly from the Philippines & India, you can hire a dedicated part time Amazon virtual assistant for less than $650/month or a full time Amazon VA for less than $1000/month!
From social media management to marketing campaigns, accounts, customer service, Wing caters for all your virtual assistant needs.
For quick and easy onboarding, Wing does all the hard work for you. You simply book a call with a customer success manager, they’ll pair you with an assistant they think can meet your needs, then you setup your account and away you go!
See more details here;
2. Onlinejobs.ph

Online jobs is a platform that gives you the opportunity to hire full or part time Filipino virtual assistants.
This is a more bespoke service than Wing, in that you post a job listing on the website for va’s to respond to and pitch for your job.
You can even start looking for free, but to hire will cost you $69/month or $99/month depending how many jobs you’re posting about.
The route to take to get the best of the best from onlinejobs is as follows;
1. Create a job listing that stands out.
Use strong clear headlines and ideally include a video
2. Create an automated email funnel to sort those who follow simple instructions from those who don’t.
To do this, create a new gmail account just for job applications and ask the applicants to email this account with a very specific email headline.
For those who do this, then send them a basic skills test to complete before going to the next stage. Those who complete the basic skills well can either move on to a more advanced skills test or qualify for a Zoom interview depending on how stringent you want to be.
Read my article how to hire a virtual assistant for an example of a job listing and pre interview task test.
3. Job Rack

Jobrack.eu is a bit like onlinejobs.ph but all the virtual assistants are from Eastern Europe.
With job rack, you have three different hiring options;
- Do it yourself. Create a job post for a one off fee of $199 and follow the same process as with online jobs.
- They’ll do it with you by assessing your needs and then doing all the heavy lifting of job listing, interviewing, etc and eventually presenting you with 5 – 10 candidates for you to put through a skills test and then interview and select. This service starts at $1500.
- They’ll do it for you, presenting you with the absolute best 2-3 candidates for you to do a final interview and choose from. This starts at $4500.
All packages come with a success guarantee, that if you don’t find the perfect hire, you get your money back.
4. Upwork

Upwork is probably the platform I have used the most for the longest.
I have had some of my best hires from this platform and highly recommend it for both short one off projects and long term hires.
Simply sign up for free, create a job description for your amazon virtual assistant, select the rough hourly rate you want to pay or fixed price for the overall job and then wait for the bids to come in.
Typically you might get 10 – 20 bids for a job, depending on how specialist it is.
Then you simply shortlist the applicants, hand out some skills tests and hire them accordingly.
Upwork is free to use but I get a 3% charge on all my freelancer payments.
5. Fiverr

Fiverr is a great platform for smaller, more specialist one off virtual assistant jobs.
If you’re looking to create awesome graphics for your product listing for example. Or you want a video explainer done, a new logo or product design, etc.
The virtual assistants on Fiverr list their skills and you can select the best person for your task by going through the listings and reading their reviews.
Like upwork, Fiverr is free to use, but you will be charged a 5% service fee on top of the job price.
6. FreeUp

Freeup pre-vets all the freelancers listed on their platform and only accept 1% of all freelancing applicants. This would indicate that the talent on Freeup is the best of the best.
You can choose from entry level freelancers up to top expert level freelancers, determined by their hourly rate.
Simply create a free account, post your requirements and Freeup will pair you with a freelancer (or more than one if you request), that you can interview and if happy can start working with.
There are no fees for hiring a freelancer on Freeup, but according to this help article, as a client we pay a 20% fee on top of the self defined freelancer rate.
